How To Build a Habit Without Motivation

How I Start My Day

I wake up at 5 AM, pray, and recite Quran, then I do my yoga. While practicing yoga, I love  listening to inspiring self-improvement podcasts-sometimes from Jim Rohn, other times from Mel Robbins. It keeps me motivated and inspired during my workout."

"I love doing yoga or workouts like weightlifting , and sometimes I jog for about 30 minutes, three to four times a week. I simply enjoy moving my body. I think it has become more than just a habit now-it's my lifestyle.

The Journey Began

"Why did i say that? Because I can't stop thinking about my workout routines if i don't do them. Have you ever felt that way? I develop this habit after reading Atomic Habits-the first book I read to build my reading habit. It introduced me to the idea of taking small steps at first, but I still strunggle to fully implement it in my life. So, I picked upp my second book, The Compound Effect by Darren Hardy. That book truly inspired me to make it a part of my daily routine. And from there, my journey began."

"The question i keep asking myself is: how can I build a habit that sticks to my life without needing constant motivation?"

"At first, I started small-just one yoga pose every day or a two-minute jog.It helped keep overwhelm at bay. Sometimes, you have to trick your brain to keep going-LOL!"

"After about two weeks, I couldn't get enough of just one yoga pose or a two-minute jog, so I gradually increased it to three or four poses. My jog went from two minutes to ten minutes, and now it has become a 30-minute workout, four times a week. The key is to stay consistent and keep doing it until it feels natural."

"I'm not going to lie-it was hard at first. In my experience, the struggle to stay consistent lasted about two weeks. I just kept pushing myself, telling myself, 'Okay, Noe, you got this. Just try for five minutes, then stop.'

But my mind kept trying to procrastinate: 'Later, Noe-after breakfast.' Later, Noe-play games first; it's more fun than yoga.' 'Later, Noe-you're not fat, your body is fine. Working out is for fat people.'

And so many more excuses! It's amazing how my mind could come up with so many tempting reasons😄!"

After struggling with so many excuses, I learned to stop overthinking.' Stop thinking, Noe-just do it, after that, I promise you can play games.' I Never thought it would work, but here I am now, effortlessly following all my daily routines.

You know what? The internal struggle is worth it. I feel it now. I don't even knowexcatly when it happened, but without realizing it, I build discipline. That's the true power of turning a habit into a lifestyle."

"But I'm still learning-still repeating the words: 'Stop thinking, Noe. Just do it.' Damn! After three years, I've build this discipline.

I just want to say-whatever you wish to do, or whatever you do now, never quit. You can take a break if you feel overwhelmed or stuck, but always return to your routine. You'll regain your momentum. Try to love the process."

"Don't push yourself too hard-just take it slow and steady.Take your time. But never forget the magic words: never quit."
